January 2025 Monthly

Happy new year!!

Here is the January Monthly:

And here are December's results.

Thanks for reading :) I am adding some extra text down here at the bottom because the spam checker told me that my ratio of images to text is suspicious. This email still scored 9/10 but you know. There were only 4 responders this time which was disappointing compared to last month's whopping 12! But there is only so much you can do without bullying people too much, and so I try to make sure the emails aren't going to spam. If you know anyone who may like to take these surveys, feel free to share it with them, please ! It would be very fun. Anyway, thank you to those four filler-outers! And I know some people are planning to do it late in January.

Would you like to make bread? What would you put in your bread? I made rosemary and garlic bread recently, which was quite nice if a little dry. I'm interested in cinnamon raisin. Mostly because that's the next thing that comes to mind. Hmmmm, other kinds of bread. My sister made bagels, shoutout to my sister Rory who made bagels. My boss who owns a cafe says she gave up on making bagels, so I don't know what Rory did to make them right the first time. Maybe like a blueberry bread. That could be fun and perhaps even funky and weird.

I bought a T-shirt today which is nice. It has an exposed boob on it which is pretty out there for me and that's okay and chill. In numerology, "222" is an "angel number" that symbolizes balance and harmony. The tarot card I pulled this morning is "The World" which is number XXI, the last of the Major Arcana, and symbolizes balance and being complete and having everything you need, let the wide world spin. It is a very nice card for New Year's Eve. It is also the card I pulled on the day of my job interview last month. I've been drawing a lot of Major Arcana recently, which is statistically improbable (There are 22 Major and 56 Minor Arcana. Major Arcana cards hold more weight and usually have to do with bigger life events.). (If you are reading closely, note that the Major Arcana begins with 0 (The Fool), which is why 21 is the last even though there are 22.) The T-Shirt has 222 on it because that is the address of my job and yes I did purchase my workplace's merch. It's pretty :)

I am a bit parched. Perhaps this is enough text. I'm going to get a haircut in February. My hair is quite long. I like it long because then I can hang it over my shoulders and look like the Virgin Mary. Did you know that she was only about 12 when she was betrothed to Joseph, and 16-17 when she gave birth? My grandparents and I said the rosary together a few days ago around the breakfast table, at my request, learning more about your heritage and whatnot. It was very solemn and somewhat morbid. The only mysteries my grandfather knows/says are the Sorrowful Mysteries (Misteries???), which begin with The Agony in the Garden. Still, there was reverence and weight to the ritual, of which I crave more in my daily life. Anyway, I'm gonna go for a long shag at my haircut. I was thinking about a jellyfish cut for a long time and then listened to my heart, which likes the idea of something a little less conspicuous (but still gayer and more interesting than Mother Mary).

I emptied the kiln today at work for the first time, which was really cool. Actually I've done it before but this was the first time she (the kiln) and I were alone. Some people be coming in there and painting actual stuff that I would pay good money for. Then I got to match pottery together based on the party's ticket, and wrap it in paper and call them and tell them their pottery was ready for pickup. They're always so excited!

This is probably enough text. I liked this rambling, I hope you liked it too. It's 21h57 right now. In 2026 I plan to (continue to try to) put less pressure on myself to be uber-productive, or the perfect citizen, or whatever standard it is I'm holding myself to. Instead I'll go about my life and be kind and a good friend and enjoy where I am and help where I can in small and big ways, and give myself more credit for all the stuff I am doing, like knitting socks and reading and writing letters and learning and giving people space to exist, and giving myself permission to make big decisions based on what feels good and right in my body. I'll also master latte art. Yippee!!

2025 was a wonderful year that started in a plane over the Atlantic ocean for me and took me beautiful beautiful beautiful places, alone and with new friends, and old friends. Gifts from French middle-schoolers, crepe-making lessons with my farmer hosts, a peach-picking gig, impulsive flash tattoos in Nice, solo hiking in Norway, withdrawing from grad school, Houston parking lots at night, cafe jobs with good food and good people, a cross-country road trip with my cat, shoveling snow for the first time, bussing to the big apple, eating a bagel, earl grey hot chocolate. Postcards, letters, book store dates, launch parties, readings, phone calls, game nights, coffee dates, tarot readings, sleepovers, guided tours, voice memos, text spam. Beautiful beautiful beautiful people!!!!

Thank you everybody. Have a wonderful year.

Mwah!
